Conservation Lecture Series

Join us in the evening to learn more about species conservation efforts in the field! Free conservation talks are held at the zoo Nov. through March, at 7 p.m. These talks are free and open to the public. Enter through the main zoo gates.

  • Wednesday, January 14: ‘Impacts of Rat Poisons on Humboldt County Wildlife’ by Mourad Gabriel, Integral Ecology Research Center Director and Ecologist
  • Wednesday, February 11: ‘Fishers in the Pacific Northwest’ by Sean Matthews, Wildlife Conservation Society Klamath Landscape Coordinator
  • Wednesday, March 11: ‘Chytrid Fungus in Frog Populations from Jamaican Coffee Plantations’ by Jennifer Brown, HSU Wildlife Department Graduate Student and SPZF Conservation Grant Recipient
