Get involved at the Zoo by participating in one of our ongoing volunteer programs! Our program participants enjoy fun, educational, and rewarding experiences that enhance the Sequoia Park Zoo for animals and humans alike.

Engage by working behind the scenes to learn more about the animals while assisting Zookeepers with animal care tasks. This is a great opportunity for volunteers that are interested in pursuing a career in Zoo keeping and learning more about the animals here at the Zoo!

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must be able to commit to volunteering for 8 hours per month
  • Must commit to volunteering for 1 special event per year
  • Must complete background check, TB test, and attend orientation

Zoo Interpreter Program (ZIP)

Share your passion for the Zoo and inspire future conservationist by connecting guests to wildlife through hands on learning experiences at one of three discovery cart stations. ZIP volunteers have the opportunity to interact with visitors from all over the world and educate them about our animals, their habitats, and our conserZIP Web Photovation efforts. Please review the requirements and get the application here if you are interested in joining ZIP!

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must be able to commit to volunteering for 4 hours per month
  • Must be able to commit to volunteering for 1 special event per year
  • Must complete background check and attend orientation
