Join us for our 9th annual Zootini gala on Saturday, August 15th as we kick off the fundraising for the next exciting phase of our Native Predators Zone!

Our signature martini this year will honor the arrival of our bald eagle, Cheyenne, as well as the completion of our brand-new McLean Foundation Raptor Aviary! The aviary is also home to Winky, our Northern Spotted Owl and Dorsie, our North American Porcupine.

Along with a full bar operated by one of Humboldt County’s leading mixologists, this year’s event will feature a gourmet dinner catered by Uniquely Yours, music from local musicians The Jazz Quadrant, live and silent auctions, a raffle with Zoo-themed prizes, the ever-popular Lucky You! wine pull, up-close and personal animal encounters, zookeeper talks, and more!

Bid on Fabulous Auction Items

Join in the fun with local auctioneer extraordinaire (and District 1 Supervisor) Rex Bohn as you compete for an exciting array of items in the live auction. You could go home with the prospect of an all-inclusive vacation in Mexico, a night on the town, even the opportunity to be a zookeeper for a day! The silent auction also offers unique local packages of fun items. The live auction takes place as dinner winds down, and the silent auction is open until shortly before the close of the event.

Enter for your chance to win one of three incredible zoo experiences! Take a special VIP peek inside our river otters’ quarters to watch a training and feeding session, help a zookeeper feed Stella Luna and Sumo, our beautiful adult red pandas, or take a chance with our third and final prize, which has yet to be determined (check back here as the event nears!). Winners will be announced at the event, but need not be present to win. If you would like to participate in the raffle, but cannot attend the event, please contact Becky Koreen-McKnight in the Foundation Office at (707) 442-5649 ext 200 to purchase your raffle tickets ($10 each) today!

Lucky You! Wine Pull

Zootini’s ever-popular wine pull lets you play with fate! Draw a random number and take home the corresponding bottle of wine, which could be valued anywhere between $3 and over $100. Just ask yourself – how lucky do I feel tonight? This year, the wine pull table will also be selling wine to accompany your dinner.

Get up close and personal with some of Sequoia Park Zoo’s more approachable animals. Over the course of the evening, our keepers will bring out animals like Dorsie, our North American Porcupine, Winky, our Northern Spotted Owl, and Thunder, one of our barnyard bunnies, to join the fun! Learn about the importance of wildlife conservation and education while enjoying a personal moment with a member of the Zoo family. Animals receive enrichment items like yummy treats and toys as their reward for good behavior!
